Our Philosophy of Care
We have four components to our philosophy of care:
Quality of Care
We will strive and work hard with you to help you effect change and to find the knowledge and resources you need. We are committed to science and research-based practice, continuous learning and researching new knowledge. With your consent we can seek consultation or second opinions with other psychologists and medical professionals to optimize your care.
As Psychologists we do not believe in just being good supportive therapists (although we are very good at that). We promise to give you honest feedback and clear direction. We develop an individualized treatment plan for you and with you. We want to see results too, and so we are committed to providing you the highest quality of care in our psychological services.
The Best Match
We have a philosophy of care that is committed to finding the best match between a therapist and a client looking for services, whether that match is with someone in our practice or outside of our practice. If for any reason you don’t “click” with one of our practitioners, we will find the right psychologist or therapist for you to work with, no questions asked. We are also happy to help if you are not yet sure where to go and what services are available to you. We are here to point you in the right direction.
Commitment to Diversity
We are committed to a philosophy of acceptance of diversity of all those in our Georgina-York Region community, by race, culture, religion or sexual orientation. We are of diverse backgrounds ourselves, and can offer services in English, French, Armenian and Spanish.
Coordination of Care
If you provide consent, we will coordinate your care with your other health care practitioners, including your family doctor. We can send them your treatment plan and progress updates, and we are open to their input to better provide you with service and support.
